As the weather improves we love to take the opportunity to get out and about. Our squadron training moves outside with practical orienteering exercises, radio practise and leadership skills all being brushed up on ahead of the summer inter-squadron competitions.
Some of these skills are already being put to good use with bronze Duke of Edinburgh qualifying expeditions taking place and with silver practise and qualifying expeditions scheduled shortly.
Over the Easter break 3 Linton cadets are attending the much anticipated Easter Camp. This is always a full on week of adventurous activity, military exercises, rifle shooting and flying. I look forward to reporting back from those currently attending the camp.
A big congratulations to Cadet Sainsbury who has now completed the blue wings course. This involved a series of training on the new squadron flight simulator equipment and a flying sortie in the Grob Tutor powered aircraft.
The training schedule has never been so varied and we look forward to catching up on all the competitions now we are back and running a full program.
For those that have missed our April open evening but are interested in joining, it is not too late to register for our summer activities program. This taster program is a fantastic way to see what 2523 Linton Squadron has to offer before formal enrolment in September. You just have to be minimum age 12 and going into year 8 in September.
