July and August have been busy at 2523!
The squadron has been virtually parading every Monday, with both staff and cadets putting a program of activities together.
Recently we have had:
Entry Level Award (ELA) directed by Flt Lt Tennison, with materials supplied to the private Facebook page for completion of this British Safety Foundation qualification.
We have had three Linton cadets submit their CVQO, with Sgt Coates being the first to get his result back and being awarded a BTEC Level 2 - we hope for two more once they have been assessed.
We have had several interest lectures on photography and flight planning, which will have further lessons instalments.
The sector has been working hard to support each other and throughout the week we have had:
Interviews with pilots from the red arrows, personnel working on different space programs, high ranking officers from the police and also leadership and shooting theory lessons being provided by sector staff.
Linton cadets still work towards their Duke of Edinburgh awards under the watchful eye of CI Orton.
In short, it has been a full and varied program and the RAF Air Cadets and volunteers at Linton have made a huge success of video learning and providing activities to a high standard, given the limitations of the technology available to us.
There are a few things to be aware of, and the first is the new extension to cadet portal log in details;
The extension for cadet portal has changed from @rafac.mod.uk to @rafac.mod.gov.uk - it is important to use the new extension or cadet portal log in will not work.
For staff the email extension has also changed from @aircadets.org to @rafac.mod.gov.uk - although for a while the old will direct to the new. This means that staff now have the following email addresses:
Flt Lt Gavin Tennison, Commanding Officer, email@example.com
Plt Off Bradley Wright, Training Officer, firstname.lastname@example.org
Plt Off Debbie Keenan, Adjutant, email@example.com
For those following social media you may be noticing some excitable chat about our return to face to face activities. Hard work is going on behind the scenes and as soon as we have any meaningful updates we will communicate these across our platforms.
Please keep with us, it is a long process!
If you have any questions or queries please don't hesitate to get in touch.
